Wildlife at the Margins Rios Rainforest
Few riparian (bank) species of plants are found in the forest. These resemble the colonizers and the gap edges, species that grow well in the hot sun of the open areas. There is a great diversity of plant species along rivers, and rivers are often bounded by walls of vines covering trees because of the access to the bright tropical sun. The presence of this large and dense vegetation is why the first explorers of the Amazon forest referred to as an "impenetrable jungle."
Periodically flooded lowland forests are quite different from lowlands forests that are found in soils well drenados.Já vàrzea that have high turnover, which are characterized by low diversity of trees and canopies less developed. Forest islands typically consist of this type of forest. In the Amazon floodplain forests have high densities of fruit trees that attract large numbers of mammals.
ANIMAL LIFE
Many land animals depend on water for survival of forests, and some are found almost exclusively along rivers and lakes.
